However, the game does not have to be reset, otherwise the weapon will get lost. There are eight weapons available, and the player is now able to hold on to a weapon between the races. Road Rash III features fifteen bikes in several classes, but also four types of upgrades for each of them. As well as choosing between three different classes of bikes, you can now buy performance, protection, tire and suspension upgrades for smaller amounts of cash. The cool thing is that these are in addition to the original selection, and you can carry all at the same time, alternating weapons as you go.Īnother worthy addition is the "upgrade" department in the bike shop. Rashers are now able to zap opponents with a 50,000 volt cattle prod, blind rivals with a Mace can, or simply empty oil can in their path (great for that "Slip Slidin" Away" feeling). So what's new? Well, first and foremost are the additions of three new weapons. OK, so there are some small tweaks and improvements, but not enough to make this a worthy purchase if you've got either or both of the other two versions. The idea is still to race 15 other riders over a selection of courses, earning money along the way to buy bigger and faster bikes. Road Rash 3 is essentially a repackaged version of the same game that EA has been selling to Genesis owners for the last four years.
#ROAD RASH 3 PATCH#
Robocop 2 wasn't a patch on its predecessor, the fourth 24-inch "Meat-o-rama" pizza of an evening is never as appetizing as the first, and Road Rash 3 is a game that just ain't what it used to be. Sequels are never as good as the original. Some have a limited amount of hits such as the cattle prod. Once depleted they will fall, but watch out as you also have a stamina bar! One thing that Road Rash 3 kicked up several notches was the weapons as there are many more in this game. You can punch and kick them and as you do, their stamina bar will deplete. You are still racing on your bike and as well as finishing, you have to fight other bikers. The core gameplay has not radically changed over Road Rash 2. I liked this aspect of the game and thought it was a nice addition.
#ROAD RASH 3 UPGRADE#
As well as this, you can upgrade your bike in several categories to make it faster, handle better, and so on. However, you do also have to maintain your bike by repairing it.

You earn money as you race and you can flat out buy a new bike which is cool. This is most evident in the way you look after your bike. The mace, cattle prod and oil can are limited to ten charges each, and will be discarded when all charges have been used. The player racer can be ejected from their bike if they crash into an obstacle or if they run out of stamina (shown in the bottom-left corner of the screen) due to fights with other racers. In this event, the racer will automatically run back toward their bike, though the player can alter their course with the directional buttons, or stand still by holding the brake input button. Opponents will likewise be ejected from their bike if their own stamina is depleted the stamina of the nearest racer is visible within the bottom-right corner of the screen.I feel that with Road Rash 3, EA tried to walk that fine line between being an arcade-style game and being more realistic. Some opponents wield weapons such as clubs, chains, nunchaku, crowbars, mace, cattle prods and oil cans, which can be taken and used by the player if the enemy racer is attacked as they are holding the weapon out to strike. The player can carry multiple weapons at once and cycle through them to select a weapon for use. The player character will punch at the nearest racer with a default input, while holding a directional button during the input will result in either a backhand or a kick.
